It was a rainy day in May when I saw her again after 8 long years. Our last encounter was brief and somewhat forgettable, as we were both caught up in bad relationships that eventually fell apart. But fate has a funny way of bringing people back together.
She looked different, yet the same. Her smile was as bright as ever, but there was a wisdom in her eyes that I had not seen before. We talked for hours, reminiscing about the past and catching up on all that had happened in our lives. I was struck by how much we had in common, despite the time and distance between us.
As the day went on, I felt a strange feeling come over me. Was it attraction? Was it a sense of nostalgia? Or was it something more? It was as if the universe was giving us a second chance to start over, to see what could have been if our circumstances were different.
It was only later that she confided in me about the prayer she had made all those years ago after being through failed relationships, for a man who would love her for who she was, and with the same aspirations plus help her build a strong foundation for the future. I couldn't help but feel like I was the answer to her prayer.
In the weeks and months that followed, we started dating and got to know each other on a serious level. It wasn't easy - we had both been hurt in the past, and were cautious about opening up to someone new. But we persevered, taking things one step at a time, building trust and growing closer with each passing day.
Now, looking back, I am grateful for that chance encounter that brought us back together. Sometimes life throws us unexpected curveballs, but if we stay open to the possibilities, we might just find the happiness and love we have been searching for.
Sometimes, destiny weaves threads that cannot be broken, even by the hands of time. Our souls recognized each other, tugging at invisible connections, reminding us that love had never truly left. Eight years seemed insignificant when compared to the unspoken bond that bound us together, as if we were meant to meet again, to dance through life as partners in love and companionship.
