"Calling in Sick to Myself: When You're the Boss and the Employee”

There once was a man named Frank who loved working for himself. He had the freedom to work when he wanted, take on projects that excited him, and create a business he could be proud of.

Frank's days were filled with fun and fulfillment. He woke up when he wanted, had coffee on his balcony, and started working on his latest project. He took breaks when he needed to and took time off when he wanted. Life was great.

But then came the days when Frank would wake up feeling sick. He knew he couldn't take the day off because he had deadlines to meet and clients to satisfy. But who could he call in sick to? After all, he was the boss!

He sat on his bed, pondering his predicament. Then, it hit him. He decided to call himself in sick. Frank picked up the phone and dialled his own number.

"Hello, who is this?" He asked, his voice shaky with fever.

"It's me, Frank," he replied.

"Frank, you can't be sick, we have a big project due today. Who am I supposed to get to replace you at the last minute?"

Frank laugh to himself. He had a funny twist planned at the end of his call.

"Well, boss, I suggest you hire that guy I saw sleeping under the bridge last night. He looked like he could use the work."

There was a brief silence on the other end of the line, then Frank heard a deep laugh. It was his own voice.

"Good one, Frank. I'll be sure to get right on that. Now go back to sleep and get better soon, we can't run this company without you."

Frank hung up the phone, laughing at his own joke. He realised that being his own boss had its perks, even when it came to calling in sick. He could always rely on a good sense of humour to get him through the day.
