Wednesday Hump Day

Dave woke up to the sound of his alarm clock ringing in his ears. He groaned and reached for the snooze button, hoping to get a few more minutes of sleep. He had a busy day ahead of him at work, and he was not looking forward to it.

Wednesday, Wednesday Hump Day

He glanced at his phone and saw the date: April 8, 2024. He felt a sudden jolt of panic. He had forgotten to prepare for an important presentation that was due today. He had been procrastinating all week, thinking he had plenty of time. But now he realized he had made a terrible mistake.

He jumped out of bed and rushed to the bathroom. He took a quick shower, brushed his teeth, and put on his suit. He grabbed his laptop and his briefcase and ran out the door. He hoped he could make it to the office in time and somehow wing the presentation.

He got in his car and turned on the radio. He heard the familiar voice of the morning show host, who was cracking jokes and playing upbeat music. Dave tried to ignore the inner voice in him and focus on his presentation. He mentally rehearsed what he was going to say, hoping it would make sense.

He was halfway to the office when he heard a coworker say something that made him freeze.

"Happy hump day, everyone! It's Wednesday, and you know what that means. We're halfway through the week, and the weekend is just around the corner. So hang in there, folks, and enjoy this beautiful day."

Dave felt a wave of relief wash over him. He had mixed up the days. Today was not Thursday, it was Wednesday. He still had one more day to finish his presentation. He had not missed the deadline after all.

He laughed out loud, feeling silly and happy at the same time. He turned up the volume and sang along to the song that was playing. He decided to treat himself to a nice breakfast on the way to the office. He had plenty of time, after all.

He realized it was going to be a good day, after all.
