 Part 3: False Accusations

Derrick knew he had to end things. After losing his job, he spent days gathering courage, rehearsing what he'd say to her. When he finally sat Amanda down at her apartment, she went eerily quiet as he spoke the words "I think we a break from each other." "I'm pregnant," she blurted out, tears running down her face. "You can't leave me now."

Derrick felt the room spin. Something in her eyes made him doubt that what she was saying was not true, but before he could respond, Amanda was on the phone with a 911 dispatcher.

"Please help me!" she sobbed into the phone. "My boyfriend just hit me! I'm pregnant and he's trying to hurt me and my baby!" She winked at Derrick as she spoke, now her tears suddenly dried up.

Derrick backed away, hands up like he was being arrested. He decides to pulled out his own phone to record. "I never touched you. I didn’t know what’s your problem? Why are you doing this?" Derrick replied.

The police arrived to find Amanda with self-inflicted scratches on her neck and arms, while the police was questioning  Derrick thankfully he had a video footage of her doing harm to herself. Though he avoided arrest, the incident report would haunt him.

   Part 4: Family Matters

Moving back in with his mother would be his safest option. "She can't keep showing up at my apartment," he explained to his mother, you remembered Amanda as the charming young lady who brought homemade cookies to Sunday dinner.

"Yes, she was such a sweet young lady," his mother had said. "I didn't know she was like that. Be careful, son."

But Amanda would find him at his mother house too. Every time he didn't answer her calls – which was happening often – she would show up sitting on his mother's porch, knocking on door demanding to see him. The situation escalated quickly when Keisha, his children's mother, brought their kids over for their weekend visit.

Amanda stood on his mother’s porch and watched through window. Then she would go to her car revving the motor real loud like she’s about to leave only to back in the neighbors driveway across the street and watch Keisha and the kids spent time with Derrick and his mother.

When they left three hours later, the sound of shattering glass broke the evening silence. Derrick and his mother rushed outside to find every window of Derrick's car smashed in, with Amanda standing there, tire iron in hand.

"You think you can cheat on me with your baby mama?" she screamed, swinging the  tire iron and knocking off the driver's side view mirror. "You think I'm stupid?"

Derrick's mother stood frozen in shock on the porch, finally seeing the monster behind the sweet smile. "Call the police," Derrick whispered to her, pulling out his phone to record yet another of Amanda's episodes.
