The Decision Rule Nobody Talks About

Three path you take decision making

Every decision you make in life carries one of three outcomes: it pushes you forward, pulls you back, or leaves you standing exactly where you are.

Simple as that sounds, most people never stop long enough to consider which direction their choices are actually moving them.

The decisions that pushes you forward in life are not always the ones that feel good in the moment.

Going back to school, ending a toxic relationship, saving money instead of spending it  these choices can feel uncomfortable, even painful.

But discomfort and progress often travel together.

When you choose discipline over convenience, you are voting for a future version of yourself that is stronger, wiser, and further along than where you stand today.

Setbacks, on the other hand, rarely announce themselves.

Nobody wakes up and decides to sabotage their own life.

Setbacks sneak in through repeated choices choosing comfort over courage, choosing familiar over better, choosing short-term relief over long-term gain.

A single bad decision rarely destroys anyone. But a pattern of them can quietly destroy everything you have worked to build.

The most underestimated outcome though is staying in the same position.

Stagnation feels safe. It carries no immediate consequence.

But standing still in a world that keeps moving is its own kind of falling behind.

Avoiding a decision is a decision. You just gave someone or something else the power to determine your outcome.

The truth is, awareness is the real advantage. You do not have to be perfect with every choice.

You just have to be honest to yourself about each decision you make and the direction each one takes you.

Ask yourself regularly: is this moving me forward, setting me back, or keeping me stuck? The answer will tell you everything you need to know about what comes next.
