Julian and Bianca had been in love for as long as they could remember. They connected on almost everything- their love for jazz music, their appreciation for fine cuisine, and even their fondness for watching documentaries on the weekend. Yet, there was one thing that always stood between them - her passion for the organization.
Bianca had been a member of the organization for a while, and she loved it. She loved the thrill of making smart financial decisions, the networking opportunities it offered, and the sense of community among the members. But, Julian wasn't quite ready to commit to it. He had his own reservations, his own concerns about diving into such an exclusive group. They argued about it endlessly, never coming to a resolution.
One evening, Bianca was returning home from a meeting with the organization. She felt the warmth of pride within her as she had been nominated for the Board of Directors. She felt ecstatic, ready to share her news with Julian. But, when she walked in the door, he was already fast asleep on the couch. She decided not to wake him, hoping to share the good news in the morning.
However, the morning was different. Julian's first words to her were, "Why do you bother with this? You know it's not for me. You should give it up." It was as if a barrier had fallen between them. Suddenly, all the arguments and disagreements felt futile, the divide too wide to bridge.
Days turned to weeks, and weeks to months, but Bianca couldn't shake the feeling that they had drifted apart. They were still in love, still had everything else in common, but she couldn't shake off the importance of the organization. It felt like a critical part of who she was, and it felt like Julian didn't see it.
One night, Julian surprised Bianca. He took her to a cozy restaurant that overlooked the city, and the sunset was breathtaking. Over dinner, Julian held out his hand, and explained that we are like minds were meant to be together no matter what like I’ll souls found each other and the organization is just not for me at the moment with what I have going and you are a big part of that as well. Bianca's looked in disbelief; she had no idea how to get him to see what she sees.
“I see if I don’t join the organization I’m going to die or something”
"I can't promise I’ll be ready today or tomorrow but my love for you will never die, but I will try one day baby. If it's important to you, then it's important to me." Julian spoke with sincerity.
Tears filled Bianca's eyes as they toasted to their future in the organization together. The barriers that stood between them were finally broken down, and they felt closer than ever before. In that moment, Bianca knew that Julian was the one - he had surprised her with not just a suggestion but his open heart, willing to connect with her on everything.
