Ben always known that living in an apartment complex would mean getting a peek into the lives of my neighbors, but this one lady has got him wondering if she’s stalking him or she just wants to make small talk.
Ben noticed her right after he moved in. She’s on the second floor, the unit next to Ben. The first few times Ben saw her looking my way through her window, he brushed it off as a coincidence. But it’s been a couple of weeks now, and every time Ben catch her eye, she would flash him then she quickly pulls the curtains closed, as if trying to avoid detection.
One day, as Ben was getting his mail, she happened to step out of her apartment, and we exchanged polite hellos. She was a middle aged woman, with a few little wrinkles and smooth silky skin. He figured she must be lonely and that her window-watching habit was just a way for her to connect with someone.
However, the next day, as Ben was getting ready to leave for work, he saw her again, peeking out through the window, hoping she would flash him he as he passes by. It’s as if she’s keeping tabs on him. That's when Ben started to feeling like she wanted to connect with him.
The whole situation left Ben feeling watched and unsettled, as if someone was constantly lurking in the shadows. He began to started looking her way every time he passed by, hoping that she’d get the hint and flashes him while walking by.
As time passed, the situation seemed to die down, and Ben went on about his life as usual. However, every once in a while, he catches her spying on him, Ben wonder if he done something wrong, or if she was just joking around with him.
It’s been a couple of months now, and the window-watching habit has yet to disappear completely. Although it’s not as intense as it used to be, Ben still feel a little excited every time he passes by her apartment.
Perhaps one day, Ben build up the courage to knock on her door and ask her what’s going on. But for now, he’s content to just ignore the situation and carry on with his life. Maybe that’s all she wants, just to know that there are people in this world who are going about their day-to-day activities just like she is. Then the door opens and she standing there naked.
Ben drops everything and stood there and looked and stuttered.
