The smell of fresh tobacco and stale beer lingered in the dimly lit room. A group of men gathered around a worn out table, shuffling their cards and placing their bets. Amongst them sat a man, known as Kevin, with a stoic expression on his face. His eyes shifted across the table, sizing up his opponents.
Suddenly, the door swung open, and in walked a woman. She walked over to the table, and Kevin’s eyes widened in surprise. It was his friend’s wife, Katie.
He couldn't help but feel a jolt of excitement surge through his veins as he watched her take a seat across from him. As the night progressed, their flirting grew more and more overt. The glances, the innuendos, the touches under the table; they were both well aware of what they were doing.
Kevin couldn't believe he was doing this to his friend. He had never been the type of guy to go behind someone’s back, especially when it came to something as sacred as a marriage. But Katie had an effect on him that he couldn't resist.
As the game came to a close, and the others packed up and left, Maria leaned in close to Kevin. “I’ve been thinking about you a lot lately,” she whispered.
He froze. What was he doing? This was his friend’s wife. But his body had other ideas, and before he knew it, they were locked in a passionate embrace.
They both knew it was wrong, but the excitement was too much to resist. The adrenaline rush of the forbidden only fueled their desires. As the night came to an end, they parted ways, both knowing the truth about what had transpired between them.
