Unexpected Visit

Matt made a surprise visit, he knocked on Shelia door. No answer. He rang the doorbell next, stepping to side out of the ring camera view while he waited.

"Yes, who is it?" Shelia's voice came through the Ring camera mounted beside the door. “Yes ma’am……special delivery leaving a package at your door” Matt in his disguise voice. "I'm on my way!"

A moment later, the door swung open. Shelia stood there in gray sweatpants and an oversized university hoodie, her hair pulled back in a messy bun pointing her gun right between my bright white eyes.

"Matt? I didn't think you were coming over" she said, pulling her gun back with a surprised look on her face.

Matt lifted his hands in a playful gesture. "Tada!" he said with a grin. "Thought I'd surprise you after our texts this morning."

Without another word, Shelia tucked her gun inside her hoodie front pocket and stepped forward and wrapped her arms around him. Matt was still in shock pulled her close.

They stood in the doorway holding each other, neither wanting to be the first to let go. The afternoon sun shined across Shelia doorway as they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms.

"Using laundry as an excuse to see me was pretty clever," Shelia mumbled against his shoulder, not pulling away.

"Who said it was an excuse?" Matt replied, still holding on.
