Beating The Odds
Growing up, Lawson always had a passion for writing. He would scribble poetry on pieces of cardboard boxes and write short stories in the margins of his notebooks. But as he got older, he realized that pursuing a career in writing was no easy task.
After a two semester of college, Lawson landed a job at a publishing company, hoping that it would be his way into the industry. But every manuscript he submitted was rejected, and soon enough, he was let go from the company for lack of experience.
Lawson felt defeated and discouraged, but he refused to give up on his dream. He spent his days on the internet and reading books on writing techniques, attending workshops, and perfecting his craft. As Lawson poured his heart into his writing, something magical began to happen. His writing became better and more authentic. His stories were relatable and emotional, and people couldn't get enough of them. His blog exploded in popularity, and his stories were being shared all over the internet.
Before he knew it, Lawson was approached by several publishers who had stumbled across his work online. They offered him book deals and advances, and Lawson's dream finally became a reality.
But Lawson thought about all the times he submitted manuscripts after manuscripts and being rejected. Lawson never lost sight of what mattered most: his passion for writing. He continued to write from the heart and put his readers first. And in doing so, he created a loyal following that stayed with him throughout his career. He started self publishing which was a huge success.
