"Hot on Catharine St."

Barbecue party-"Hotter than Hades"

Dalton was relaxing on his couch watching his favorite TV show when he suddenly noticed smoke coming through his window. It was thick and white and quickly filled the room, causing Dalton to cough and splutter. He ran over to the window and saw that the source of the smoke was his neighbor's backyard.

Without thinking, Dalton quickly grabbed his phone and dialed 911. He explained to the operator that his neighbor was barbecuing and causing smoke to come through his window. The operator seemed puzzled, but Dalton insisted that it was a serious issue.

The police arrived within minutes, and Dalton rushed outside to meet them. As he led them to his neighbor's house, he could hear the sizzle and smell the aroma of delicious meat cooking on the grill. He hesitated for a moment, wondering if he had a license to cook cause it’s too much smoke, the sight of the thick smoke billowing out of his neighbor's yard made him press on.

When they arrived, the police quickly assessed the situation and spoke to Dalton's neighbor, a kind old man named Frank. Frank explained that he was barbecuing for his grandson, who was leaving for the army in a few days. The police quickly realized that there was no real danger and left the scene.

As Dalton walked back to his house, he felt the police didn’t do their job and sided with his neighbors. On the one hand, he felt embarrassed that he had called the police for a smoking incident. “Like they used to say in the old days there is more than one way to skin a cat” said Dalton with an evil look on his face.

The next day, Frank decided to make it up to his neighbor by having friends over some beer and burgers for a friendly cookout. Frank spent the afternoon grilling and enjoying his company, and Dalton realized that they thought he was a push over and his neighbors had to be taught a lesson: sometimes it's better to give people the benefit of the doubt, but you messed with the wrong neighbor.
