 The Kind Hearted Thief

Man-trying-to-break-in-a-car

Breaking News: The city council has enough complaints to see hands on what’s happening in the Northern section of the city. In the words of the City Council “Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That Nonsense”. Then he immediately called an urgent mandatory town hall meeting for all city officials and residents in the Northern section from Sterns to Halls and fellow surrounding neighborhoods at Sterns Community Center for 5:00 pm.

They want to get to the bottom of who’s been breaking into people's cars at night. When we arrived they had the police taking statements and dusting for fingerprints on the cars that got hit.

Everyone who had shown up, was wondering what changes were being made. Some people looked nervous, others looking mad as hell. It was time for Councilman Lewis to address the community and walked up to the microphone sounding ticked off.

Councilman Lewis: What's up with these kind hearted thieves breaking into people's cars in the neighborhood? Ain't nobody got time for that nonsense!

You out here thinking you're slick, going through folks' personal stuff, pulling out their paperwork leaving it scattered all over the place and I guess after you're done searching for whatever you are looking for you leave the doors wide open.

What's that’s your signature?

Just leave people's doors wide open and don’t steal anything. What kind of thief are you? Some people have made statements saying they had jewelry and money in their car and it was still there. You out here wasting time going through people's personal property for no damn reason just to take nothing.

And then some of you citizens have the nerve to say, "Oh, my car doors were locked with the alarm on." People, please! With all that nonsense. You know good and damn well you forgot to lock your car, just like everyone else. So you can stop saying that and just admit it - your car door was unlocked, period.

But that’s not the point. The point is, we think it’s someone who stays in this neighborhood not too far from here. It could be one of your relatives. It’s really not a good look to be stealing from people that’s living from paycheck to paycheck.

We broke just like you. I thought we were supposed to be looking out for each other, and not trying to take what people work damn hard for. You are making the people in this community and your life harder than it already is.

So let me make this crystal clear for you knuckleheads out there. Keep your hands to yourself and do not touch other people's property and that’s including vehicles too. I’m going to say this one more time for the people in the back.

Listen closely. “Stop breaking into people's cars! There's nothing in there for you. If It’s not yours, don't touch it. Simple as that and get a job.

And to the citizens, this time make sure you lock your doors, even if you think you did last night you didn’t. So double check before you go to bed. You can’t trust these fools out here. It could be one of y’all relatives or you?

“You better watch your mouth because I don’t steal”. One citizen burst out.

City Councilman David: Okay, let’s try and look out for each other and let's keep our neighborhood safe. We have elders and hard working people that grew up here and have been a part of this community for decades. They didn’t go through this mess back in those days and they shouldn’t have to now. But if we catch you.

Just know this “You will be prosecuted to the fullest extent possible”.  Our beloved

Mayor has something to say on this issue.

Mr. Mayor?

Mr. Mayor: To all you wanna be thieves out there. This city isn’t playing around any more. We will find you and lock you up. So if you think you are bad try us. Just like y’all say “You don't want that smoke”.

Let’s keep it clean, keep it honest, and keep your hands to yourself. That's one step we can do to make this city a better place for everyone. Thank you, ohh one last thing - we are watching you.

The meeting ended with everyone agreeing to keep a closer watch and report any suspicious activity. The City Council Representatives and Mr. Mayor made it clear - “You get caught stealing, your ass going to jail”. No exceptions.
