Mansion in the mountains- "Exploring the Mountains: The Family Venture to a Party"

The Family Venture to a Party

In 1992 there were three  cousins from the south, Leon, Marlon, and Michael, had been dreaming about visiting their relatives in California for years. Finally, the time had come, and the cousins, accompanied by their families, boarded a flight to the West Coast.

The journey was long, but as they arrived in California, they were filled with excitement. Their relatives greeted them with open arms, and they all sat down to a delicious meal, sharing stories and laughs.

As the evening wore on, their relatives surprised them with an invitation to a party in the mountains. The cousins and their families eagerly accepted and soon found themselves driving up winding roads, surrounded by towering trees.

When they arrived at the house, they were awestruck. Marlon says ’this is not a house this is a mansion’.  They walked through the door from the outside it was a hallway with purple lights and black walls with purple reflecting paint spattered on each side of the wall with soft jazz playing while they walked through a door that went to the first floor.

 First Floor

They went through the door to the first floor now it’s beautiful marble floors that changes colors with the different lighting though a door that took them one side of the mansion where the walls were made of glass and in the middle of the floor they had a big black Steinway & Sons Grand Piano. With a sitting area and a swirly white staircase going to the second floor. When they look through the glass it had a beautiful panoramic view of the mountains as the sun goes down.

 Second Floor

With a big black grand piano sitting in the middle of the room, inviting anyone to play a tune.s they explored further, they discovered that the kitchen was on the second floor, it looked like a kitchen from back to the future every appliance was stainless steel with a industrial stove and marble topped the island in the middle of the kitchen with chairs around it. It had a glass wall with a sliding door and on the other side was big sitting area with sofas, tables and reclining chairs and two big screens televisions. From there they went upstairs to the third floor. the year was 1991.

 Third floor

That had six bedrooms with Jacuzzis in each bedroom bathrooms with balconies and on the fourth floor was the master bedroom suite with its own kitchen and balcony. The mansion was like something out of a dream. The party was just getting started after they had finished touring the mansion, and they soon joined in, dancing, eating, and enjoying the company friends and relatives.

One of the cousins asked the waitress who was serving food and drinks ‘what’s that green plant’ he asked. The waitress replied artichoke. All three cousins looked and said “arti who”what is that. Artichoke the waitress explained to the cousins what artichoke was and what part not to eat cause it will choke you. ‘Choke you oh no I’m not about to die eating a plant”. We don’t have this down south one of the cousins says. With music filling the glass room, and the view of the mountains made it feel like they were floating in the clouds.

The night was unforgettable, and as they made their way back to their relatives house, the cousins couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to explore California and other cultures plus spending time with their family. It was a trip that they would always treasure in their hearts.
