A Journey of Healing and Hope
As a resident of the City Surrounded By Death, it has been difficult to witness so many senseless deaths over the years. I have watched in horror as too many people have gone missing, never to be seen or heard from again. When some of them are eventually found, it is often in the form of a dead body, leaving families to suffer and grieve the loss of a loved one.
What's worse, however, is that some of these deaths could have been avoided had it not been for drugs. Overdoses are all too common in this city, and it feels like a real battle trying to stop them from happening. Although I'm saddened me by the rising numbers of these preventable deaths, having a few friends dying from overdoses. I try to focus on the positive ways that I can help bring an end to them.
While there have been attempts to fight the crime and clean up the city, they have been met with very little success. With young children as victims, and criminals appear to have taken control of the once peaceful city. The city also seems to have an uncanny ability to absorb the despair and sorrow that haunt the many people who wander its streets, amplifying their suffering. Maybe it’s the rap music the nba youngboy and lil Boosie the list goes on an on could be one contributor the part of the violence that goes on in the city of death. I doubt it they rapping about what they see on an everyday basis.
It's been hard seeing this city go from what was once a working city to what is now a tragic testament to human suffering. Yet despite the odds, I have hope that the death rate in this city can eventually go down. By taking a stand and using our voice to promote healthy habits and a healthier lifestyle, we can help turn the tide and make this place safer for all.
Despite all of this darkness, I have been blessed to call this place my home. I refuse to give into the feeling of helplessness, but instead choose to try to make a difference. Yes, this is a city of death, but there are still pockets of life within its walls. Every life saved and every tear dried is proof that hope is never too far away, and that no matter the darkness, the City Surrounded By Death still contains the potential for beauty and happiness.
