It was a typical Monday morning, and Dave woke up feeling a little grumpy. He couldn't sleep well the previous night because he was disturbed by his wife's snoring. He decided to let her take a shower first before getting their day started. While his wife was in the bathroom showering, he heard her phone ringing that she left on the dresser. It was probably her mother again, he thought, always calling her so early in the morning.
Without a second thought, he answered the phone, but nobody replied on the other end. A few seconds later, a message popped up on the screen. It was a message from an unknown number, but when he read it, he was devastated.
"Good morning beautiful last night was amazing. I can't wait to see you again my love."
He could feel his blood pressure rising as he read the message. Dave knew that the message wasn't meant for him. He went through the messages and found more messages from the same unknown number. All of them were graphic, with images that Dave couldn't even fathom.
Dave confronted his wife as soon as she came out of the bathroom. He held the phone and showed her the messages. Her face turned pale as she looked at the phone, trying to come up with an explanation. When she spoke, her voice was shaking.
"Why are you going through my phone? I told you I needed privacy."
Dave couldn't believe what he was hearing. How could she accuse him of not giving her privacy when she was caught red-handed cheating on him?
"What privacy? You've been cheating on me with some random guy, and you dare ask me about privacy?" he yelled.
His wife stood silent, her eyes filling up with tears. Dave's heart felt like it was breaking, but he didn't know what to do. He felt betrayed and lost, not knowing where their relationship would go from here.
Dave learned a hard lesson that day, the cost of going through someone's phone. He felt like he had invaded her privacy, but at the same time, he uncovered the betrayal that his wife had been keeping from him. The aftermath of the event was difficult for Dave, but in time, he got a divorce and as time passed he found love and learn to trust again, but cautiously.
