The Day After Valentines Day
It was the day after Valentine’s Day February Fourth Tenth, Twenty Twenty-Four Mr. James arrived at the hotel and it was a sight to see. The hallways rose petals, red and pink balloons, and freshly cut roses everywhere. The smell of romance and love lingered in the air. As Mr. James did his daily rounds, trying to figure out what’s going on with the decorations everywhere. The desk clerk says: I don’t know Mr. James it must be hook up weekend cause we sold out.
Mr. James: So you saying we sold out on the day after Valentine Day and not on Valentine Day then all of sudden you can hear a couple talking loud - the sound of an argument Mr. James told the desk clerk they will continue this conversation later let me check this out.
He followed the sound down the hallway and noticed rose petals leading up to room 124. A part of him was sad to witness what sounded like someone wasn’t in the loving mood on a day where love was in the whole building getting celebrated, but the nosy side of him was intrigued.
He stepped closer and putting his ear close to the door and could hear what’s happening inside the room. There, he heard two people having an intense argument. It appeared that the woman thought her boyfriend had been cheating on her due to the fact that it looked like someone had been lying in the bed. But he was trying to explain to her that he had broken a sweat from decorating the room with candles and rose petals that he had put all around the room and he sat on the bed. Then he heard him saying Baby I did all this for you and that’s what you want to talking about I was tired I sat down on the bed from putting rose petals everywhere in here for you that’s why the bed looks that way.
He listened as the woman got more and more angry, picking up something a nearby and throwing at him. She said you are lying with a broken heart, she stormed out the room. He went behind her continuing to explain to her he wasn’t cheating, leaving a pile of petals, balloons, and broken pieces of the tv remote on the floor in his wake.
Mr. James knew all too well what it felt like to have a broken heart and he couldn’t help but to shake his head saying he was going to check the security cameras to see if he lying or telling the truth? But for the couple who ran out the hotel due to lies and cheating on the day after Valentine’s Day wishing them good luck. Mr. James goes back the front desk to check the security cameras and see the young man bringing in the decorations the night before which was Valentine Day with another woman so he was lying. That’s sad. Well I wonder what will happen next year?
